Welcome to Art Class!
Mr. Snyder is teaching the following art classes this school year:
Art 7
This is a 20 week general art class for 7th grade students. During the semester students are introduced to various artists, art movements and mediums. Students explore not only famous works of art, but also have the opportunity to create work inspired by their own experiences and influences.
Digital Photography I
This is a 20 week course which serves as a foundation for digital photography and Photoshop. Students explore the many different types of photography including portraiture, black and white, still life, photo montage and photojournalism.
Digital Photography II
This course is a continuation of Digital Photography I. During the 20 weeks students continue to explore the various types of photography while delving deeper into the Photoshop editing software.
Graphic Arts & Design
Graphic Arts & Design is a full year course where students will express their creativity and develop ideas through using a variety of graphic media. Initially, students will use a range of traditional art materials, like pencil & pen, paint, screen-printing, and block printing as they expand their knowledge of the graphic arts. Students will also have the opportunity to use digital design tools, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. While using the digital design tools, projects may include logo design, album design, t-shirt design, advertisements, etc.
3D Concepts
This is a 20 week sculpture course which focuses on the creation of three dimensional artwork and problem solving. Students have the opportunity to create unconventional artwork using materials such as; wire, cardboard, packing tape, plaster, wood, etc...
Art in Our Lives
Art in Our Lives is a full year course provided to our Special Needs students in grades 7 - 12. These students explore a wide variety of topics, mediums and art disciplines.
